To drop a fruit in Verse Piece on PC, select the fruit in your hotbar so your character is holding it, then press Backspace and it falls out of your hands. Don’t left-click while you’re holding it, because that eats the fruit and replaces the one you already have.
This method is confirmed by two separate sources, a Codezzy drop tutorial and the BloxInformer fruits page. Both date from 2025, though, and the game was last updated on 2026-10-16 (the Naoya update), so test it once on a cheap fruit before you try it on a rare one.
How to drop a fruit on PC
- Get a fruit from the Fruit Reroll vendor. The first vendor is on the starter island.
- Pick the fruit in your hotbar so it’s in your character’s hand.
- Press Backspace, the key you use to delete text. The fruit drops.
Note: The price of a fruit roll has changed since launch. A February 2025 video says 10,000 cash, while BloxInformer and later footage say 25 gems. Check what the vendor shows in your own game.
How to drop a fruit on mobile and console
Verse Piece officially supports PC, mobile and console, according to its Roblox description. However, we couldn’t find any tutorial, wiki page or patch note that shows a drop button for touch screens or controllers, so the mobile and console method is unconfirmed. If someone tells you about a specific button, try it with a fruit you don’t care about first.
How to drop a fruit you aren’t holding
BloxInformer says that pressing the backtick key (the one just below Esc) opens your backpack and lists the fruits you own but haven’t eaten, and that you can get rid of one from there with Backspace. This comes from one source only, so treat it as unconfirmed. Either way, the reliable route is to drag the fruit into your hotbar, hold it, and press Backspace.
None of the sources we checked describe a separate fruit-storage system like the ones in other One Piece-style games. In a launch-week video, one player said he didn’t think he could store a fruit at all. Whether fruit storage was added in a later update is unconfirmed.
Why can’t I drop my fruit?
You already ate it
Left-clicking a fruit eats it, and the new fruit overwrites your current one. Once a fruit is eaten it’s no longer an item in your inventory, so there’s nothing left to drop.
It isn’t in your hand
Backspace only drops the item your character is currently holding. If you’ve selected a sword or fighting style, that’s what Backspace targets, so select the fruit first.
You’re on mobile or console
There’s no confirmed drop control for these platforms yet (see above).
Can you give a fruit to a friend?
We couldn’t confirm this. One beginner guide from February 2025 mentions a trade option in the game menu, but no source shows a fruit actually being traded or a dropped fruit being picked up by another player. We also couldn’t find out whether a dropped fruit despawns, or how quickly. If you want to hand a fruit over, stand right next to your friend before you drop it and ask them to grab it straight away.
