You can’t drop a normal fruit in Fruit Battlegrounds: fruits you spin with gems sit in your fruit storage slots, and there is no drop button, key, or trade menu for them. To get rid of one, spin over it (its level is saved if you get it back later) or keep it in a spare slot. The only fruits that were ever droppable are physical boss-drop fruits, held out and dropped with Backspace on PC, and the latest wiki edits say even that was patched.
Can you drop a fruit in Fruit Battlegrounds?
Not the fruits most players have. Fruit Battlegrounds isn’t like Blox Fruits, where fruits are items you carry around. Here you roll fruits with gems, through rebirths, or from boss drops, and the ones you roll are saved straight to fruit storage slots. Neither the Roblox page’s control list nor the official Trello has any drop action, and the community wiki only ever describes dropping for physical boss fruits.
There is also no trading. On r/fruitbattleground people still ask whether fruit trading will ever be added, and none of the updates up to Ope V2 (UPD 22, November 2025) added it.
| Platform | Drop a spun fruit | Drop a physical boss fruit |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Not possible | Backspace while holding it (old method, possibly patched; see below) |
| Mobile | Not possible | Never documented |
| Console (Xbox) | Not possible | Never documented |
What to do instead of dropping a fruit
Spin over it
The game’s official description says fruit levels save: if you “spin off” a fruit and later roll it again, its old level comes back. So rolling over a fruit you don’t want doesn’t throw away your progress. The wiki’s gem-farming tips are built on the same idea, with players keeping a spare slot for a weak fruit and rerolling it.
Use your storage slots
Fruit storage lets you keep several fruits and switch between them. Every player got extra free slots in two 2024 updates (UPD 14.5 and UPD 15). The Extra Fruit Storage gamepass costs 749 Robux on Roblox. The 2023 Trello said it added 3 slots, UPD 15 gave pass owners one more, and the wiki now lists 4 extra slots.
How the old physical-fruit drop worked
Physical fruits come only from bosses: Marco (Phoenix), Kaido (Dragon or Dragon V2), Cake Queen (Soul) and Katakuri (Dough or Dough V2). The drop rate is 1%, or 2% with the 2x Boss Drops gamepass. These fruits don’t go into your fruit slots, and a 2023 video was made just to explain why a Phoenix from Marco doesn’t show up there.
Wiki pages written between 2024 and October 2025 say that on PC only you could equip the physical fruit from your hotbar and press Backspace to drop it, so a friend could pick it up and eat it. That was the only way to move a fruit to another player.
Note: The sources don’t agree on whether this still works. The Bosses page, edited on 29 November 2025 just after the Ope V2 update, says fruits “used to be droppable” with Backspace and that this “was fixed”. The Physical fruits page still describes the drop and warns that it was buggy, saying dropped fruits could become “ghost fruits” that end up in neither player’s inventory. The Cake Queen page says the Soul fruit can’t be dropped at all. Treat the Backspace drop as unconfirmed, and don’t risk a fruit you care about.
No source says how long a dropped physical fruit stays on the ground before it despawns.
Why can’t I drop my fruit?
It’s a spun fruit, not a physical one
Gem spins, rebirth rolls and pity rewards all go into storage. They were never droppable.
You’re not on PC
Even when the Backspace drop worked, it was only described for keyboard players. There’s no documented mobile or console button.
The drop was patched
The newest wiki edit says the Backspace drop was fixed in late 2025. If nothing happens when you press it, that’s probably why.
You died or reset
According to the wiki, dying or resetting while you hold an uneaten physical fruit deletes it. Single-source, but worth knowing before a boss fight.

FAQ
Can you give a fruit to a friend in Fruit Battlegrounds?
Not a spun fruit, because there’s no trading. The only known way was dropping a physical boss fruit with Backspace on PC, and the latest wiki edits say that was patched in late 2025.
Do I lose my fruit level if I spin it away?
No. The official game description says levels save, so spinning the same fruit again brings its old level back.
Why isn’t my Phoenix from Marco in my fruit slots?
Physical boss fruits aren’t stored. They stay in your hotbar until you eat them. The wiki says eating one replaces the fruit you have equipped.
How do I get more fruit slots in Fruit Battlegrounds?
All players got free extra slots in 2024. For more, buy the Extra Fruit Storage gamepass (749 Robux), which the wiki says adds 4 slots.
