In most Roblox fruit games you drop a fruit by holding it in your hand and pressing Backspace on PC, or by tapping the held fruit and choosing Drop on mobile. Blox Fruits is the big exception: since Update 27 (August 2025) Backspace no longer drops fruits there, and you have to pick Drop from the Eat/Drop prompt instead. In every game the fruit must be out of storage and in your hand first.

Console controls are not documented for any of these games, even though most of them support controllers. Each guide says what we could and could not confirm, with the date of every source.
We also checked Rogue Piece: its description, community Trello, fan wikis and tutorials say nothing about dropping fruits, so we have not published a guide for it yet.
Why won’t my fruit drop?
You are not holding it
Backspace and the Drop button only act on the item in your hand. Select the fruit in your hotbar first so your character is visibly holding it. In Grow a Garden 2 and Sailor Piece, having it in the backpack is not enough.
It is in storage
Stored fruits have to come out of storage before they can be dropped, and Blox Fruits goes further: a fruit that has ever been stored can never be dropped again, only traded or eaten. If you want to hand a fruit to someone, do not store it first.
You are in Blox Fruits and pressing Backspace
Update 27 removed the Backspace drop. Click Drop in the prompt that appears when you try to use the fruit.
The game has no drop at all
Fruit Battlegrounds keeps spun fruits in storage slots with no drop or trade. Older guides describe a Backspace drop for boss-drop fruits, but the community wiki now says that trick was fixed in November 2025.
Be careful when you click
In Blox Fruits the Drop option sits right next to Eat, and in Verse Piece a left-click on a held fruit eats it. Either way, eating replaces the fruit you already have. Slow down on mobile, where Eat and Drop are two buttons side by side.
Anyone nearby can pick up a dropped fruit. GPO players report “drop it and I’ll give you a better one” scams, so use the game’s trading system for valuable fruits whenever it has one. How long a dropped fruit stays on the ground is unclear in most games: sources disagree for Blox Fruits and Sailor Piece, and nobody documents it for the rest.
